ICA Curriculum

The coach training offered by International Coach Academy is unique in the coach training industry in the following ways:

1. The training is designed by education specialists and based on solid adult learning principles
2. The training does not propose one single coaching model. Rather it explores a range of theories and models and then teaches you to develop an individual coaching process and model that suits your particular experience, background and vision.
3. The training has a strong connection between theory and practice and includes a coach as part of the training
4. The training is embedded in a large global network of coaches, and the "social learning" is just as important as the informal teachings.
5. The training is completely flexible and portable. You can take the modules in any order that suits you and there are over 50 class time to choose from each week.

PROGRAM DESCRIPTION

We have 2 key programs for people interested in professional coaching skills.

1. Certified Professional Coach Program
This program will equip you with the skills, knowledge and business tools to become a Professional Coach.

Hours: 120 Student contact hours
Accreditation: Accredited Coach Training Program with the ICF
Career Path: For people who want to establish a career as a Professional Coach

2. Associate Certified Coach Program
This program will give you coaching skills and practice to integrate into your current profession

Hours: 60 Student contact hours
Accreditation: Internal Certification + Portfolio Track with ICF
Career Path: For people who want to add coaching skills to their existing profession. Examples: health professionals, real estate, fitness etc.

PROGRAM DELIVERY

The coach training program's at ICA are delivered to students from over 92 countries around the world. We deliver this though:

1. Downloadable lecture programs
   Immediately following enrolment you are issued with a login and password to a highly resourced online learning environment. There you can download the full set of lectures, access resources, join a Community of Practice and plan your schedule with the online Academic Calendar
   
2. Phone tutorials
   Tutorials are held via teleconference and consist of groups of between 12 and 20 students with a qualified coach trainer. They are based on the lectures and held many times a week to cover our growing international student base
   
3. Discussion forums
   Our forums are open 24 hours a day , 7 days a week. Students from all over the world come and discuss their learning, their thinking and their experiences.

COMMUNITIES OF PRACTICE

Regardless of the coach training program you choose you will join one of our Communities of Practice. This will allow you to specialise in a chosen niche and develop your coaching amongst your peers.
