Graduated:  2009 - January

It was a year ago January 9, 2009 that my life was changed forever. Let me explain. My husband and I spend  the winter in Scottsdale Arizona from Denver, Colorado. The economy was free falling, my husband after years  of success and great philanthropy was feeling depressed, his health was being affected by his mental state. Our kids said “Mom why don’t you go back to work?”
My passion is mental health and I love helping people,  so I thought at 61 years old, could I start a new career?
I signed up at ICA to become a Life Coach, I really had no idea what i would learn about myself about the fantastic gift that coaching would mean to my personal  growth, my interaction with my husband, children, friends and now clients.

I have become an excellent listener, also I am learning to loose my judgments on people and situations.
My awareness of the miraculous around me has made me appreciate my life more than I ever have before.
My clients are saying that I have insight and intuition and that I have helped them move forward with their  challenges.

When i am coaching I am in the “zone”, that place of pure contentment.
I now can say that  I have found my calling.

How are you using coaching to make a difference?:
My greatest satisfaction is how my husband is happy with less money and less stress. He is learning to “live in the moment” and to appreciate the magnificent sunsets and just every day conversations with strangers.

What was the most valuable thing you learned at ICA?:

The skills I learned in coaching has put both of us in a place of gratitude. Even though there are every day problems we are learning to face them without fear. Becoming a Life Coach after graduating from ICA is a journey that is always with new knowledge and skills because of the continued support and education that is provided by ICA, it is an internet village that is always there for their students and graduates. My 7 months of training and education at ICA was excellent. it taught me discipline, it made me think abstractly and take risks that I didn’t think i would be willing to do. The instructors were top quality that always challenged us but in a loving supportive way. The highlight was being coached and coaching fellow students. It was very exciting to coach students from different parts of the world. The biggest lesson that I learned is to be free of my own demons before i could be an effective coach. The process taught me so much about myself, I am really a person that believes that answers do come from the client: that each individual has the power to change and access greatness within them. I have learned that when you do what you love, the money will follow. ICA’s culture is so positive and accepting of all personalities, ages, gender, nationalities. The diversity of the student body and teachers was a highlight of the process.
