Lee Punt – Life Coach New Zealand

After a sense of knowing that something was missing in my life and a general sense of being unfulfilled, I began my journey to life coaching following a diagnosis of depression.  Following treatment in the form of cognitive behavioural therapy I began to search for answers as to why and how I could have reached this juncture in my life.

My search began with a 6 month polytechnic Introduction to Counselling course, followed by an extra-mural tertiary paper in Psychology as a Social Science.  Both paths proved that I was on the right track,  however neither was the ‘just-right’ fit I was looking for.  That’s when lifecoaching found me and the AHA moment I’d been searching for ocurred.

My niche of ‘Empowering Women’ rapidly became evident as I began to comprehend that disempowerment was the major factor in my depression.  The fact that I was responsible for being the mistress of my own destiny was not lost on me, hence ICA (and lifecoaching) became my passion, my focus, my teacher, my support and my way of life.

Without the unwavering support of ICA as a whole, individual tutors and classmates, and and most importantly Dennis Griffen who took me in hand and convinced me I’d make a great lifecoach (his patience was legendary) I would not have found my reason for breathing. I am now able to support women of all ages through their transitions in life and have enjoyed coaching girls as young as 9, teenagers, mothers, professional women etc. The support of the ICA community has been a vital and instrumental factor in my own journey of personal growth as well as my lifecoaching and I will be eternally grateful for their unwavering support (in spite of the fact that I am yet to finish my training!).
