February: Health & Wellness Coaching with Jan Osmond

jan osmond

In February, Wellness Coach, Jan Osmond hosted a rich conversation about health and wellness coaching, health coach training and certification and what it means to be a wellness coach. The first question asked was: In order to be a health and wellness coach, do we need to be qualified health professionals?

“People today are really starting to take a more personal responsibility in their own health and wellness.  We’re seeing a huge increase in alternative health professionals, personal trainers, naturopath, and massage therapists.  The list is endless, really.”

“I don’t think that people have to have training in healthcare degree.  Again, we’re doing coaching, to help people get to their goals or what they want to do.”

“I was wondering how do you work with people when they’ve reached their goal?  Sometimes it’s hard to keep up on what they have accomplished, especially in weight or quitting smoking.  They have that momentum that takes them to reach the goal, but then they lose that momentum and go to their regular life.  How do you support them to keep that willingness to keep being healthy, continue their path?”
